Catching Fire Defiance
Essay
In the book Catching Fire there are many acts of defiance. Katniss, Peeta, Cinna, and The tributes do many things that make President Snow mad.
Katniss wanted to " break through the smug veneer of those who use their brains to find amusing ways to kill us. To make them relive that while (they) were vulnerable to the capital's cruelties, they are as well."
Peeta Painted Rue for his private session. He reminded the game makers that they kill innocent children. "Actually, I painted a picture of Rue, Peeta says. How she looked after Katniss had covered her in flowers."
The tributes all held hands in unity. This was defiant because it shows that even he tributes are united against the capita." By the time the anthem plays its final strains, all twenty-four of us stand in one unbroken line in what must be the first public show of unity among the districts since the Dark Days."
Cinna turns the wedding dress that snow designed into a mocking jay. It's defiant because he turned Katniss into the symbol of the rebellion on national television." I'm in a dress of the exact design of my wedding dress, only it's the color of coal and made of tiny feathers. Clothed in black except for the white patches on my sleeves. Or should I say my wings. Because Cinna has turned me into a mocking jay."
I think President Snow would have hated Cinna more than anyone because he turned Katniss into a mocking jay on national television. Cinna showed the symbol of the rebellion on television.
