From the book catching fire my essay will be about defiance from the characters to the capitol.
Katniss hung a dummy with seneca cranes name on it during her private session. She wanted to "break the smug veneer of those who use their brains to find amusing ways to kill us. To make them realize that while {they} where vulnerable to the capitols cruelties , they were as well". This is defiant because she's calling out the capitol on something they did to one of their own .
During Peeta's private session he painted a picture of rue's death , he's reminding them they kill innocent children "I just wanted to hold them accountable, if only for a moment says Peeta. If only for a moment". This is defiant because he is criticizing the games and the capitol.
The tributes all held hands in unity , it shows that even the tributes are united against the capitol. " all twenty four of us stand in one unbroken what must be the first public show of unity among the districts since the dark days "this is defiant because the games are supposed to put the districts against each other and there in competition but there saying they don’t care and standing united.
Cinna turns her into the symbol of the rebellion on national tv for everyone to see. "or should I say my wings because Cinna's turned me into the mocking jay" . This is defiant because he knows this is something the capitol is against and did it to be rebellious .
I feel as though he would find the tributes uniting most defying because there supposed to be pinning districts against each other and showing they can never be stronger than the capitol that’s everything the games stand for , making them compete against each other and their showing they don’t care and are united together
