Catching Fire

 

In class we are reading Catching Fire and we are talking about the acts of defiance and the acts of rebellion. 

In Catching Fire Katniss wanted to change the thoughts of the capitol citizens. In the book it said she wanted to " break through the smug veneer of those their brains to find amusing ways to kill. " For Katniss's private training she took  dummy and hung it my the neck and then took red blood juice and put Seneca Crane on it to tell the game makers are not safe. 

On page 240 Peeta told Katniss he painted a picture of Rue. He says " actually I painted a picture of Rue. How she looked after Katniss had covered her in flowers. " 

On page 258 the tributes held hands in unity. First no one was there. After a little bit all the tributes were there. The capitol didn’t like it so they turned off the t.v.'s and turned off the lights. 

On page 252 Cinna turned Katniss's wedding dress into a Mockingjay. President Snow didn’t like that the dress was changed. President Snow had the game makers kill Cinna in front of Katniss to tell her to stop trying to act out.
